May - Part 2

I went to a Tim Burton Exhibition at the Design Museum in london on the last day it was running! Tim Burton is my favourite director. I just have this pull to all of his movies and tv shows. So, when James found out there was a Tim Burton Exhibition he jumped to book us tickets. It was so much better than I expected. His art, his poetry and the film props and more was scattered across the three or four rooms. I was in awe. I don't really like crowds of people so we did get through it pretty quickly but I loved it. We also went to a speakeasy style bar called Evans and Peel. I like to gate keep this though so I won't write too much about it.

I finally put my health first a bit more. I think a big reason is because I feel there's a lot I am taking on mentally with the house buying process, adjusting to a new relationship and trying to keep in touch with friends. My body has been feeling it. I made sure to get all up to date with the follow up appointments at the GP. I even went to the dentist for the first time in years! I'm lucky that my teeth are mostly fine. It's hard to be proactive with my health when I went through so many doctors and hospital appointments before now. It kind of feels a bit like I am still a lab rat with all of the tests they are running. However, I know future me will thank me for getting the treatment I need when I get it. If my health problems were brand new, I think I'd be more on it with this but it's just exhausting doing so much back and forth in the past 10 years. My social life has done okay this month too. A highlight being heading over to Boom Battle Bar in Southampton with my friends from the travel group. We played augmented reality darts which is actually pretty fun. It's so nice to have a good group of local friends to be able to do things like this with. The social calendar has been busy this year and it's really lovely to feel a sense of belonging after so many years of social anxiety.

My brother send me a rare message asking if I wanted to go to the cinema with him to watch the live action remake of Lilo and Stitch. So, of course I said yes. I love spending time with my brother and we definitely don't do it often so this was the best surprise. We had a Five Guys and then got the biggest popcorn and Ice Blast I've ever had and sat in the fancy seats in the cinema, re-living our childhood. It's great what you can do with adult money and free will! On the subject of childhood, our childhood friends, Ed and Steph, turned 29 this month. They had a pirate themed party and it was pretty chilled. The eurovision was on on the same evening so we watched a bit of that. Steph made an incredible "under the sea" themed cake. It is so lovely to still stay in touch with the people I've grown up with. The gym has been good too. I managed a 75kg squat! However, I am pretty exhausted in my mind and body so need to make sure I rest up a bit more I think. I still have a good routine though. I can't believe it's the end of May already! Nearly half way through the year and wow, what a rollercoaster this year is. I haven't heard much about the status of the house yet but I think I'll probably move in in July. Everyone has been saying it's going to take a while, I'm in no rush.
